Can a Non-Traded REIT Be Frozen?

Yes. Although non-traded REITs often times have redemption policies in their offering documents, the REIT’s board of directors usually have the discretion to suspend or severely restrict the redemption policy.  As a result, the REIT investment could potentially “freeze” and remain “frozen” for an indefinite period of time.
