Small Business Support Bulletin #7 For dealing with COVID-19 Crisis
Researched and written by Attorney John J. Truitt and Brooke Sandoval-Banker
This is the seventh bulletin provided by Vernon Litigation Group in our ongoing series focused on addressing the collective need to provide support for our local small business owners. By joining together, the continued patronage we all provide assists them with navigating the challenges of staying in business, to include supporting their efforts to maintain staffing and client needs, and most importantly, we can help position them for continued growth and success on the other side of the COVID-19 crisis, ensuring they remain a constant fixture in our community.
As a local business ourselves, we are teaming up with a restaurant in our immediate neighborhood to collectively support our heroes who are in the front lines fighting COVID-19, and we encourage you to do the same.
These selfless public servants, while stationed away from their families and the safety of their homes, continue to render aid and assist our communities during this time of crisis. We all take tremendous comfort knowing these skilled professionals are available 24/7.
Accordingly, we challenge YOU to join us in supporting our local neighborhood restaurants during our current compromised economy, to keep their doors open for business, and sharing tasty meals as a gesture of thanks to our frontline hero’s!
There are 319 restaurants in between Fort Myers and Naples and the layoffs came quick and have been in the thousands. Restaurants and small businesses are unfortunately at the mercy of the federal mandates that are changing by the day.
Furthermore, the mandates continue to leave restaurants and small businesses adjusting their business structures and strategy to cater to this new reality. Restaurants are offering delivery or order-to-go services, stores are offering personal shoppers to deliver items to your home and services-based businesses are to be made by appointment.
An additional way to support small businesses and restaurants is to purchase gift certificates or gift cards in which some may be used at a later date.
